Figure 1A (left) is an image of the surface of Mars taken by NASA,s

Dr. S. Squyres, who is the Opportunity rover's lead scientist, stated at a NASA event held at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory on January 16, 2014, eight days after the discovery of the rock, Pinnacle Island, that rover scientists had two theories of how this rock mysteriously appeared sometime between December 26, 2013 and January 8, 2014. The first theory proposes that the rock was moved to its present location after being impelled in some manner by one of the six wheels of the rover. This would have had to occur either when the rover was departing or returning from its short trip that it took between December 26, 2013 and January 8, 2014. The second theory proposes that the rock is a piece of ejected debris that originated from a nearby crater-the latter having been formed by a meteorite striking the surface of Mars sometime between the two dates, mentioned above. Dr. Squyres stated that, in his opinion, the first theory was "the most likely scenario." However, the uncertainty of both theories was revealed by his statement, "We're completely confused and having a wonderful time." At this point, the reader may want to turn to Post 13 in order to acquaint, or reacquaint, himself with the symbolism concerning the rock, Pinnacle Island, and the features of the surface of Mars in proximity to it.
On February 4, 2014, rover scientists moved Opportunity a short distance from the place it had been parked since January 8, 2014, while it awaited the end of the Martian winter. This was done in order to observe the nearby surface of Mars that lie a short distance from the rock, Pinnacle Island, and had been obscured from the camera's view by the rover, itself. When they did this, they discovered an overturned rock just a short distance from where Pinnacle Island was located that had the same unusual appearance as Pinnacle Island. The rover had driven over this rock, and the track of the vehicle, which was imprinted in the Martian soil, confirmed this. Therefore, the rover scientists concluded that this was the original piece of rock that was struck by one of the rover's wheels and a portion of it was transported a short distance away. This, they believe, was the origin of the rock, Pinnacle Island. (See C of Figure 3). The other rock, similar in appearance to Pinnacle Island, was named Stuart Island by astronomers at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. See D of Figure 3). Pinnacle Island was studied, once more, by Opportunity's instruments, which revealed high levels of the elements manganese and sulfur. Dr. R. Avidson, the Opportunity Deputy Principle Investigator suggested that these water-soluble elements and the compounds associated with them were concentrated in the rock by the action of water. However, it is not known if this occurred relatively recently or sometime in the distant past.

After the rover finished inspecting the rock, Pinnacle Island, it continued its mission of discovery on Mars that had began in 2004, and moved on to investigate other features of the surface of Mars. It would appear that the mysterious appearance of the Martian Jelly Doughnut Rock had been solved by the rover scientists, and, as stated by Dr. Squyres shortly after the discovery of Pinnacle Island on January 8, 2014, that the rock probably was moved to its present location after being transported in some manner by one of the six wheels of the rover.
Nevertheless, because Figures 1A/1B and 2A/2B are inspired sources, it is likely that there is more here than meets the eye. Is it possible that the Creator was involved in the transport of the rock from its former location near Stuart Island, to a new location near its present location, but not one exactly at its present location? This may have involved the Creator guiding the movement of the rover to ensure that one of its wheels struck the rock from which both Pinnacle island and Stuart Island originated. After this, the former was transported to a nearby location. In this view, the dislodgment and displacement of Pinnacle Island was not a natural coincidence. Rather, it was a miraculous intervention by the Creator. Whether, this event took place when the rover departed this location on December 26, 2013 or when it returned to this location after its short trip on January 8, 2014, the writer does not know, for certain. However, if this event occurred on or about December 26, 2013, the rock, Pinnacle Island, would have remained unseen by Opportunity's cameras until January 8, 2014, when the rover returned to this location.
During the thirteen day interval between December 26, 2013 and January 8, 2014, is it possible that something took place that resulted in the rock occupying its present location among the various symbolic features of the surface of Mars that lie in proximity to it (Figure 2A/2B). These features are discussed in Post 13 of this blog and the reader is encouraged to consider these features. In this view, the rock, Pinnacle Island, was not transported to its present location at the time the original rock was struck by one of the wheels of the rover. It was only transported to place near its final resting place. Is it not unusual that the rock, Pinnacle Island, appears to be "cleaned up" compared to the similar rock, Stuart Island, and other small rocks that surround it. Is it possible that after the rock, Pinnacle Island, was dislodged and displaced by one of the wheels of the rover, and after the rover had departed this location on December 26, 2013, living entities dwelling within the interior of Mars, by means of a small remotely controlled drone spaceship, picked up the rock, Pinnacle Island, and transported it to a base located beneath the surface of Mars or an invisible spaceship above the surface of Mars where it was "cleaned up." This may have been done in order to make this rock stand out, conspicuously, against the background of rust-colored rocks and soil which is everywhere on Mars. Is it not also unusual that the rock, Pinnacle Island, when photographed on January 8, 2014, was resting on a circular feature of a surface rock that appears to have been made to receive the circular shaped Pinnacle Island.
In this context, the inspired source, "Pinnacle Island" (Figure 2A/2B), and the significance of this rock in relation to other features in proximity to it on the surface of the Mars could have involved both the Creator, as well as material living entities dwelling above, on, or beneath the surface of Mars who serve him. The former may have been responsible for the dislodging and displacement of the rock, Pinnacle Island, to a location somewhere in the vicinity of where the rock would be discovered on January 8, 2014, while the latter may have been involved in the "cleaning up" of this rock and placing it upon the circular feature on one of the flat rocks that comprise the surface of Mars, here. Although it would have been possible for the Creator to accomplish all of this by himself, perhaps, the he prefers participation by the living entities who serve him in the things he does.
Concerning the symbolism of the rock, Pinnacle Island, and the surrounding surface features of Mars associated with it, it may be recalled from Post 13 that this symbolism appears to concern a judgment by the Creator upon the people of the Pacific Northwest states of Oregon and Washington, USA.. In particular,, this judgment appears to involve volcanic and earthquake activity in the Pacific Northwest. However, it is possible that certain conditions first had to have existed before this judgment could take place. Since the discovery of Pinnacle Island on January 8, 2014, these conditions, apparently, have not been met. Therefore, the judgment symbolized in the inspired source, "Pinnacle Island" (Figure 2A/2B), has not taken place. It is not unreasonable to assume that this judgment may have been (or may be) associated with the Creator's plans for the end of the present age and the beginning of the future age, or as the latter is referred to in Christian eschatology-the end of the age (Mt. 12:31-32). Because this judgment has not occurred in 2014 to this time, it is possible that the plans of the Creator concerning the beginning of this eschatologically important period of time have been changed and moved up to some future time, known only to the omniscient Creator.
